VSCO FILM 05 Review

Every time VSCO releases a new lineup of killer films, it feels like a mini Christmas. When I got the email this morning that VSCO Film 05 had been released, I checked out the examples, browsed through the films, and went on my way to purchasing it.

I pulled together some of my favorite photos from previous trips and weddings, then spent the afternoon testing the different presets to see what I could pull from them. It’s always a bit overwhelming to scroll through the long list of films for the first time, but soon I dialed it down to a few select choices and I was happy.

Overall, this is a pretty legit set. Definitely my favorite since Pack o1 and o2 were released a couple of years ago. With only some minor tweaks, I was able to come away with some sweet looks that I plan on integrating into my workflow. My top four films were Kodak Royal Gold 400+, Kodak Max 800+, Fuji Neopan 400+, and Kodak Ektar 100 Warm. They were all full of great colors, brought a lot of depth to any image that lacked contrast, and gave a really consistent look to everything.

I give it two thumbs up!

There’s a nice little sale for both returning and first time customers who purchase VSCO Film 05, so head over to their store if it’s something you’d like to check out.
